Topic: Self-reflection through letter-writing

Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to understand the concept of self-reflection and its importance in personal development.
  • Students will be able to write a letter to themselves that reflects on their academic and behavior last year while in school.

Materials

  • Pen and paper for each student
  • Examples of self-reflection letters (optional)

Warm-up

  • Ask students about their favorite subject in school and why they like it.
  • Have a few students share their answers with the class.
  • Ask the rest of the students to think of a subject they don't like and why they don't like it.
  • Have a few students share their answers with the class.
  • Discuss with the class the importance of finding subjects that excite and motivate us, as this will help us engage in learning and improve our grades.

  • Introduce the topic of self reflection and explain that it is the ability to understand and evaluate our own actions, thoughts, and feelings.

  • Explain the activity that the students will be doing, which is writing a letter to themselves that reflects on their academic and behavior last year while in school.

Guided Practice

  • Divide the students into small groups and provide each group with a stack of blank letter paper and writing utensils.
  • Have the students brainstorm ideas for what they would write in their letters and provide suggestions and guidance as needed.
