Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to identify different varieties of apples and describe their unique characteristics.


  • Variety of apples (Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Fuji, etc.)
  • Pen and paper for each student
  • Handouts with information about apples (including pictures)


  • Ask students if they have ever eaten an apple before.
  • Ask them to name the different kinds of apples they have eaten.

  • Introduce the concept of apples and their various varieties.
  • Show pictures of different types of apples and ask students to identify them.

  • Explain how apples can be eaten in different ways, such as raw, cooked, or in apple pie.
