Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

  • Pictures of different family members (e.g. parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins)
  • Cardboard cutouts or pictures of different household objects (e.g. fridge, microwave, television, bed, chair)
  • Glue sticks and paper for independent practice activity

Warm-up

  • Ask students if they have a family. What are the different members of their family?
  • Show students the pictures of different family members and ask them to identify who the people are.
  • Ask students to volunteer and demonstrate how they use different household objects in their daily life.

Direct Instruction

  • Introduce the concept of family and explain that a family is a group of people who live together and care for each other.
  • Show students the pictures of different family members and ask them to identify who the people are.
