Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to name at least 10 common tools and describe the uses of each.

Materials

  • List of common tools (hammer, screwdriver, drill, saw, etc.)
  • Pictures of each tool
  • Index cards and markers

Warm-up

  • Ask students if they have ever used any tools at home. Ask them to name the tools and explain how they are used.
  • Review the list of tools and ask students to name any that they have already mentioned.

Direct Instruction

  • Show the students the various tools and explain their names and uses.
  • Demonstrate how to use each tool, using the sample materials if necessary.
